The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ THE TRUE BELIEVERS will be successful, 1 those who, in their Prayers, humble themselves; 2 those who turn away from all that is frivolous; 3 And who are payers of the poor-due; 4 Who abstain from sex, 5 except with their spouses and slave-girls. The practice of carnal relations is lawful with them. 6 But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors - 7 and who are faithful to their trusts and to their pledges, 8 and who guard their prayers [from all worldly intent]. 9 These will be the heirs, 10 Heirs of Paradise, they shall abide in it forever. 11 And assuredly We created man of an extract of clay. 12 then We made him, a drop, in a secure receptacle (the womb). 13 Then We made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood; then of that clot We made a (foetus) lump; then we made out of that lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh; then we developed out of it another creature. So blessed be Allah, the best to create! 14 Thereafter you are destined to die, 15 and then on the Day of Resurrection you shall certainly be raised up. 16 We have created seven paths above you; We have never been unmindful of Our creation. 17 And We have sent down rain from the sky in a measured amount and settled it in the earth. And indeed, We are Able to take it away. 18 And by means of this [water] We bring forth for you gardens of date-palms and vines, wherein you have fruit abundant and whereof you eat, 19 And a tree that grows out of Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat. 20 And in cattle (too) ye have an instructive example: from within their bodies We produce (milk) for you to drink; there are, in them, (besides), numerous (other) benefits for you; and of their (meat) ye eat; 21 And on them, as well as in ships, ye ride. 22
