The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the Mount (of Revelation); 1 And [by] a Book inscribed 2 on parchment for distribution, 3 Consider the long-enduring house [of worship]! 4 And by the roof raised high (i.e. the heaven). 5 And [by] the sea filled [with fire], 6 Indeed, the punishment of your Lord will occur. 7 there is none to prevent it. 8 On the Day when the firmament will be in dreadful commotion. 9 The mountains move and fly away, 10 So woe on that day to those who reject (the truth), 11 who divert themselves with idle chatter: 12 That Day shall they be thrust down to the Fire of Hell, irresistibly. 13 "This:, it will be said, "Is the Fire,- which ye were wont to deny! 14 What, is this magic, or is it you that do not see? 15 Roast in it! And bear you patiently, or bear not patiently, equal it is to you; you are only being recompensed for that you were working.' 16 [But,] verily, the God-conscious will find themselves [on that Day] in gardens and in bliss, 17 Rejoicing at what their Lord has given them; and their Lord will preserve them from the torment of Hell. 18 "Eat and drink with relish," (they will be told), (as recompense) for what you had done." 19 They will recline (with ease) on Thrones (of dignity) arranged in ranks; and We shall join them to Companions, with beautiful big and lustrous eyes. 20 And those who believed, and their seed followed them in belief, We shall join their seed with them, and We shall not defraud them of aught of their work; every man shall be pledged for what he earned. 21 And We will aid them with fruit and flesh such as they desire. 22 They shall pass therein from one to another a cup wherein there shall be nothing vain nor any sin. 23 ۞ And there will go round on them youths appointed to attend them as though they were pearls hidden. 24 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 25 They will say: verily we were aforetime, midst our household, ever in dread. 26 Wherefore Allah hath obliged us, and hath protected us from the torment of the Scorch. 27 Formerly we had always prayed to Him. Surely He is Most Benign, Most Compassionate.” 28
