Friday (Al-Jumu'ah)
11 verses, revealed in Medina after The Column (Al-Suff) before Victory (Al-Fatt-h)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ All that is in heavens and earth exalt Allah, the King, the Pure, the Almighty, the Wise. 1 He it is Who sent among the unlettered ones a Messenger (Muhammad SAW) from among themselves, reciting to them His Verses, purifying them (from the filth of disbelief and polytheism), and teaching them the Book (this Quran, Islamic laws and Islamic jurisprudence) and Al-Hikmah (As-Sunnah: legal ways, orders, acts of worship, etc. of Prophet Muhammad SAW). And verily, they had been before in mainfest error; 2 together with others who have not as yet joined them. He is the Almighty, the Wise. 3 That is the bounty of Allah; which He giveth unto whom He will. Allah is of Infinite Bounty. 4 The likeness of those who were laden with the Taurat and then they bare it not, is as the likeness of the ass bearing tomes. Hapless is the likeness of the people who belie the signs of Allah. And Allah guideth not a wrong doing people. 5 Say thou: O ye who are Judaised! if ye imagine that ye are the friends of Allah above mankind, then wish for death if ye be truthful. 6 But they will never long for it because of all that their own hands have sent before, and Allah is Aware of evil-doers. 7 Say, "Indeed, the death from which you flee - indeed, it will meet you. Then you will be returned to the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, and He will inform you about what you used to do." 8
