The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts out all that is within it and becomes empty; 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 he shall surely receive an easy reckoning 8 and will return rejoicing to his family. 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 And be thrown to scorching fire. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 BUT NAY! I call to witness the sunset's [fleeting] afterglow, 16 by the night and what it covers, 17 And [by] the moon when it becomes full 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 Nay, (on the contrary), those who disbelieve, belie (Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and whatever he brought, i.e. this Quran and Islamic Monotheism, etc.). 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 So announce to them a Penalty Grievous, 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
