Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the night when it envelopeth, 1 and the day as it rises bright! 2 And by Who created the male and female, 3 Indeed your efforts differ. 4 Then as for him who giveths and feareth Him. 5 and believes in the finest, 6 for him shall We make easy the path towards [ultimate] ease. 7 And as for him who stinteth and is heedless, 8 and rejects what is right, 9 Surely We will ease his way unto adversity. 10 His riches will not save him when he perisheth. 11 Verify on us is the guidance 12 And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. 13 So I have warned you of a Fire which is blazing. 14 None shall enter it but the most unhappy, 15 who have rejected the (Truth) and have turned away from it. 16 One who fears God shall be kept away from it -- 17 He who gives his wealth to be purified, 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 But only seeking the countenance of his Lord, Most High. 20 surely, he shall be satisfied. 21
