۞ Gather together those who did wrong and their comrades and that which they were wont to worship 22 "Instead of Allah, and lead them on to the way of flaming Fire (Hell); 23 “And stop them they are to be questioned.” 24 They will be asked, "Why do you not help each other?" 25 Nay! on that Day they will be entirely submissive. 26 And some of them shall advance towards others, questioning each other. 27 "It was you who tried to mislead us from righteousness". 28 They will say: nay! ye yourselves were not believers. 29 "Nor had we any authority over you. Nay, it was ye who were a people in obstinate rebellion! 30 So the sentence of our Lord has come to pass against us: (now) we shall surely taste; 31 So then, [if it be true that] we have caused you to err grievously - behold, we ourselves had been lost in grievous error!" 32 So this day they all are partners in the punishment. 33 This is how We deal with the guilty. 34 They were the ones, who on being told, "God is only One," become puffed-up with pride 35 And (they) said: "Are we going to abandon our aliha (gods) for the sake of a mad poet? 36 Nay, but he brought the Truth, and he confirmed those sent (before him). 37 Verily ye are going to taste a torment afflictive. 38 but you shall not be recompensed except for what you were doing. 39 Save single-minded slaves of Allah; 40 For them is a known sustenance, 41 Fruits. And they will be honoured 42 In Gardens of peace. 43 Facing each other on Thrones (of Dignity): 44 A bowl shall be made to go round them from water running out of springs, 45 Clear, delicious to drink, 46 Wherein there is no headache nor are they made mad thereby. 47 And with them shall be damsels of refraining looks, large-eyed 48 (Pure) as they were hidden eggs (of the ostrich). 49 They will go to one another asking each other questions. 50 A speaker from among them shall say: Surely I had a comrade of mine, 51 who would say: "Are you among the believers (of the resurrection)? 52 (Do you think) we would be paid back our due when we are dead and reduced to dust and bones?' 53 And he will reply: 'Are you looking down (into Hell)' 54 Then looketh he and seeth him in the depth of hell. 55 He will say, "By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 But for the Favor of Allah I should have surely been among those who were arraigned (with you in Hell). 57 What then, shall we not die 58 except for our first death? Are we not going to be punished? 59 Most surely this is the mighty achievement. 60 For such a reward should the workers perform. 61 Is that better by way of hospitality or the Zaqqum tree, 62 Verily, We have caused it to be a trial for evildoers: 63 for, behold, it is a tree that grows in the very heart of the blazing fire [of hell,] 64 its fruit [as repulsive] as satans' heads; 65 They will eat from it and fill their bellies with it; 66 Then after it, indeed for them is the drink of boiling hot water. 67 Then thereafter, verily, their return is to the flaming fire of Hell. 68 They had found their fathers astray, 69 yet they run in their footsteps, 70 yet before them most of the ancients went astray, 71 And assuredly We sent among them warners. 72 Then see what was the end of those who were warned (but heeded not). 73 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 74
