Verily Jonah is one of the apostles. 139 When he ran away to a ship completely laden, 140 And then drew lots and was of those rejected; 141 So the whale swallowed him, for he was blameworthy, 142 But had it not been that he was of those who glorify (Us), 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish until the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We cast him, upon the shore, and he was ill, 145 And We caused to grow up for him a gourdplant. 146 Then We sent him unto a hundred thousand, or more, 147 and they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 Now ask them their opinion: Is it that thy Lord has (only) daughters, and they have sons?- 149 Did We create the angels females, to which they were witnesses? 150 Then is it of their lying that they say: 151 God hath begotten. Verily they are the liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 What ails you then, how you judge? 154 Then will you not be reminded? 155 Or have you, perchance, a clear evidence [for your assertions]? 156 Then bring your scripture, if what you say is true. 157 And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well that they will be brought before (Him). 158 God is too glorious to be described as they describe Him 159 except for God's sincere servants. 160 But as for you, and that you worship, 161 you shall not tempt any against Him 162 Except the one who will go into the blazing fire. 163 There is not one of us (angels) but has his known place (or position); 164 Verily, we (angels), we stand in rows for the prayers (as you Muslims stand in rows for your prayers); 165 And verily we! we hallow. 166 And indeed they used to say: 167 "If we had a reminder as had the men of old (before the coming of Prophet Muhammad SAW as a Messenger of Allah). 168 we would surely have been God's chosen servants," 169 But they disbelieve in it (the Koran), but soon they shall know! 170 And surely Our word has gone forth respecting Our servants, the messengers: 171 that they shall certainly be succoured, 172 and Our host -- they are the victors. 173 Therefore turn away from them for some time. 174 and see, and soon they too shall see. 175 Do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 But when it descends into the open space before them, evil will be the morning for those who were warned (and heeded not)! 177 So turn (O Muhammad SAW) away from them for a while, 178 And watch and they shall see (the torment)! 179 Hallowed be thine Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they ascribe! 180 Peace be upon the Messengers 181 And all praise to God, the Lord of all the worlds. 182

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
