The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the Mount (of Revelation); 1 and by the Book in lines 2 on unrolled parchment, 3 by the much-frequented House, 4 by the elevated canopy; 5 And by the sea kept filled (or it will be fire kindled on the Day of Resurrection). 6 Indeed your Lord’s punishment will surely take place. 7 There is none that can ward it off. 8 On the Day whereon the heaven will shake with an awful shaking. 9 and the mountains are in motion, 10 Woe on that Day to those who deny the truth, 11 Those who in wading sport themselves. 12 The day when they are thrust with a (disdainful) thrust, into the fire of hell 13 "This:, it will be said, "Is the Fire,- which ye were wont to deny! 14 "Is this then a fake, or is it ye that do not see? 15 Go now and burn in it. It is all the same whether you bear it patiently or do not bear it with patience. You are only being recompensed for your deeds.” 16 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and bliss 17 rejoicing in that their Lord has given them; and their Lord shall guard them against the chastisement of Hell. 18 (And it is said unto them): Eat and drink in health (as a reward) for what ye used to do, 19 Reclining on thrones set in lines, and We will unite them to large-eyed beautiful ones. 20 We shall unite the believers with those descendants of theirs who followed them in their faith, and shall not deny them any part of the reward for their good deeds. Every person is pledged to what he did. 21 We shall give them fruits and meats, and what they desire. 22 They shall pass on to one another a cup that will incite neither levity nor sin. 23 ۞ And round them shall go boys of theirs as if they were hidden pearls. 24 And some of them draw near to others, questioning. 25 They will say: “When we were living before among our kinsfolk we lived in constant fear (of Allah's displeasure). 26 But God has granted us favors and saved us from the scorching heat of the torment. 27 "Verily, We used to invoke Him (Alone and none else) before. Verily, He is Al-Barr (the Most Subtle, Kind, Courteous, and Generous), the Most Merciful." 28
