The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created- 1 Created man from a clot. 2 Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous - 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 The One Who taught man all what he did not know. 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 Because he sees himself free from want. 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 What thinkest thou? He who forbids 9 A votary when he turns to his devotions? 10 Have you considered if he were on the right way, 11 Or had enjoined piety, (it would have been better)? 12 Have you seen if he denies and turns away - 13 Does he not know that Allah does see? 14 Let him beware! If he does not desist, We will drag him by the forelock -- 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 Then, let him call upon his council (of helpers), 17 [the while] We shall summon the forces of heavenly chastisement! 18 Beware! Do not obey him, but bow in adoration and draw near (to your Lord). ۩ 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
