The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Woe to every (kind of) scandal-monger and-backbiter, 1 Who accumulated wealth and hoarded it, counting. 2 thinking his wealth will render him immortal! 3 Nay, he shall be thrown into the Crusher. 4 Would that you knew what hutamah is! 5 (It is) the Fire of (the Wrath of) Allah kindled (to a blaze), 6 the Fire that shall rise to the hearts (of criminals). 7 Lo! it is closed in on them 8 in columns outstretched. 9
