The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Read (Prophet Muhammad) in the Name of your Lord who created, 1 Created man from a clinging substance. 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Bountiful One 3 The One Who taught to write with the pen. 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Yes indeed, man is surely rebellious. 6 Because he considers himself self-sufficient. 7 Indeed towards your Lord only is the return. 8 Have you seen the one who forbids 9 A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays? 10 What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, 11 Or enjoins righteousness? 12 Hast thou considered whether he may [not] be giving the lie to the truth and turning his back [upon it]? 13 Does he, then, not know that God sees [all]? 14 Let him know that if he does not desist, We shall certainly drag him by his forelocks, 15 By the lying, the sinful forelock. 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 We shall call the guards of Hell. 18 Nay! (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him))! Do not obey him (Abu Jahl). Fall prostrate and draw near to Allah! ۩ 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
