۞ But We shall say, "Assemble those who did wrong together with their associates and what they worshipped 22 Instead of Allah, and lead them to the path to hell; 23 And stop them, for they shall be questioned: 24 They will be asked, "Why do you not help each other?" 25 Nay, but that day they shall submit (to Judgment); 26 but [since it will be too late,] they will turn upon one another, demanding of each other [to relieve them of the burden of their past sins]. 27 They say: Lo! ye used to come unto us, imposing, (swearing that ye spoke the truth). 28 They will reply: "Nay, ye yourselves had no Faith! 29 We had no power over you, but ye were wayward folk. 30 Thus, the words of Our Lord about us have come true and now we are suffering the torment. 31 Therefore we perverted you, and we ourselves were perverts.' 32 On that Day, they will all share the chastisement. 33 Verily that is how We shall deal with Sinners. 34 Surely they used to behave proudly when it was said to them: There is no god but Allah; 35 And said: Shall we forsake our gods for a mad poet? 36 "Surely, he has brought the truth, confirming those who were sent before; 37 Ye shall indeed taste of the Grievous Penalty;- 38 and will be recompensed only for what you deserve. 39 Except for God's sincere servants; 40 [in the hereafter,] theirs shall be a sustenance which they will recognize 41 Fruits of every kind, and they will be honoured 42 In Gardens of Felicity, 43 On couches facing one another; 44 a cup filled with wine from its springs, will be passed around to them; 45 Crystal-white, of a taste delicious to those who drink (thereof), 46 Neither does it intoxicate, nor give a headache. 47 And with them shall be damsels of refraining looks, large-eyed 48 As if they were [delicate] eggs, well-protected. 49 Then they will advance unto each other, mutually questioning. 50 One of them says, 'I had a comrade 51 who used to say: -- Are you also one of those who confirm the Truth (of life after death)? 52 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then be certainly brought to judgment? 53 (A voice) said: "Would ye like to look down?" 54 He looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He said, “By Allah, you had nearly ruined me!” 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought forth (to Hell)." 57 What then, shall we not die 58 except for our first death? Are we not going to be punished? 59 This is indeed the mighty triumph, 60 For the like of this let the workers [on earth] work. 61 Is such [a paradise] the better welcome - or the [hellish] tree of deadly fruit? 62 We have made this (tree) a trial for the evildoers. 63 It is a tree that grows at the bottom of Hell. 64 and its fruits are like the heads of devils. 65 And verily they must eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 And afterward, lo! thereupon they have a drink of boiling water 67 Then most surely their return shall be to hell. 68 These are the ones who found their fathers steeped in error, 69 So they hastened [to follow] in their footsteps. 70 And verily most of the men of old went astray before them, 71 though We had sent among them warners. 72 So behold what wise hath been the end of those who were warned. 73 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 74
