Thamud (people also) belied the warnings. 23 For they said: "What! a man! a Solitary one from among ourselves! shall we follow such a one? Truly should we then be straying in mind, and mad! 24 Was there none but he to whom the Reminder could be vouchsafed excluding all others? Nay; he is an insolent liar.” 25 "Tomorrow they will know who is the impudent liar! 26 For We will send the she-camel by way of trial for them. So watch them, (O Salih), and possess thyself in patience! 27 And let them know that the water [of their wells] is to be divided between them, with each share of water equitably apportioned." 28 But they called their comrade and he took (a sword) and killed (her). 29 Ah! how (terrible) was My Penalty and My Warning! 30 Verily We, We sent upon them one shout, and they became as the stubble of a fold-builder. 31 And in truth We have made the Qur'an easy to remember; but is there any that remembereth? 32 The people of Lut denied the Noble Messengers. 33 Surely We sent upon them a stonestorm, except Lut's followers; We saved them a little before daybreak, 34 As a Favour from Us, thus do We reward him who gives thanks (by obeying Us). 35 And he [Lout (Lot)] indeed had warned them of Our Grasp, but they did doubt the warnings! 36 They demanded that he turn over his guests to them. We struck their faces, blinded them and said, "Suffer Our torment of which you were warned". 37 Early on the morrow an abiding Punishment seized them: 38 "So taste ye My Wrath and My Warning." 39 We have made the Quran easy to understand, but is there anyone who would pay attention? 40

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
