Friday (Al-Jumu'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth is exalting Allah, the Sovereign, the Pure, the Exalted in Might, the Wise. 1 He it is Who hath sent among the unlettered ones a messenger of their own, to recite unto them His revelations and to make them grow, and to teach them the Scripture and wisdom, though heretofore they were indeed in error manifest, 2 And others from among them who have not yet joined them; and He is the Mighty, the Wise. 3 Such is the Bounty of Allah, which He bestows on whom He will: and Allah is the Lord of the highest bounty. 4 Those who were to carry the responsibility of the Torah but ignored, are like donkeys laden with books. How terrible is the example of the people who reject the revelations of God. God does not guide the unjust. 5 (Muhammad), ask the Jews, "If you believe that you are the chosen people of God to the exclusion of all other people, wish for death if you are truthful". 6 They will never wish for it, because of what their hands have sent forward. God has full knowledge of evil-doers. 7 Say: "Behold, the death from which you are fleeing is bound to overtake you - and then you will be brought back unto Him who knows all that is beyond the reach of a created being's perception as well as all that can be witnessed by a creature's senses or mind, whereupon He will make you truly understand all that you were doing [in life]. 8
