The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
A caller supplicated about a punishment to fall on 1 To the disbelievers; of it there is no preventer. 2 From Allah, the Lord of all pinnacles. 3 To whom the angels and the soul take a day to ascend, whose length is fifty thousand years. 4 So be patient (O Muhammad SAW), with a good patience. 5 behold, they see it as if far off; 6 but We see it is nigh. 7 Upon the day when heaven shall be as molten copper 8 And the mountains will be like wool, 9 and no friend will ask about his friend, 10 Though they shall be made to see one another. Fain would the guilty ransom himself from the torment of that Day by his children. 11 his companion (wife), his brother, 12 And his kin that sheltered him. 13 And all those who are on the earth, to save himself. 14 By no means! For the raging flames of the fire 15 Plucking out (his being) right to the skull!- 16 It will summon whoever turns his back and flees, 17 And amasses (wealth) then shuts it up. 18 ۞ Truly man was created very impatient;- 19 Being greatly grieved when evil afflicts him 20 If good comes to him he holds back his hand, 21 except those that pray, 22 and constant in their prayers. 23 and those in whose wealth there is a known right 24 to those who ask [for help] and to the destitute; 25 And those who believe in the Day of Judgment, 26 And those who fear the punishment of their Lord, -- 27 Surely the chastisement of their Lord is (a thing) not to be felt secure of-- 28 And those who guard their chastity, 29 except in regard to their spouses and those whom their right hands possess, for in regard to them they are not reproachable, 30 but those who go beyond that limit are transgressors; 31 And those who are faithful to their trusts and their covenant 32 who testify to what they have witnessed, 33 And those who keep a guard on their prayer, 34 They will be honoured in the Gardens of Bliss. 35
