The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
