The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the sun and his brightness, 1 by the moon, which follows it, 2 by the day, when it displays it, 3 and by the night as it envelopes the sun; 4 And [by] the sky and He who constructed it 5 and by the earth and That which extended it! 6 by the soul and how He formed it, 7 and inspired it to lewdness and godfearing! 8 Prosperous is he who purifies it, 9 and failed is he who buried it! 10 Thamood cried lies in their insolence 11 When the most unfortunate of them broke forth with 12 although God's apostle had told them, "It is a she-camel belonging to God, so let her drink [and do her no harm]!" 13 Then they rejected him (as a false prophet), and they hamstrung her. So their Lord, on account of their crime, obliterated their traces and made them equal (in destruction, high and low)! 14 And He does not fear the consequence thereof. 15

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
