Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha-Mim. 1 By the Clear Book 2 We verily, have made it a Quran in Arabic, that you may be able to understand (its meanings and its admonitions). 3 And the Qur’an is undoubtedly, in the Original Book with Us, surely the exalted, full of wisdom. 4 Shall We turn away the Remembrance from you because you are a sinful nation? 5 How many a Prophet We sent among the ancients, 6 And never came there a Prophet to them but they used to mock at him. 7 Then We destroyed men mightier than these in prowess; and the example of the men of old hath gone (before them). 8 If you ask them: "Who created the heavens and the earth?" they will answer: "The Mighty and All-knowing created them," 9 It is He who has made the earth for you as a cradle and has made roads therein so that you will perhaps seek guidance. 10 And who sends down rain from the sky in measured amounts, and We revive thereby a dead land - thus will you be brought forth - 11 He Who created these pairs, all of them, and provided you ships and cattle on which you ride, 12 so that when you are mounted upon them you may remember the bounty of your Lord, and say: “Glory be to Him Who has subjected this to Us whereas we did not have the strength to subdue it. 13 It is to our Lord that we shall eventually return.” 14 Yet they have assigned to Him a part of His own servants! Man is dearly unthankful. 15
