Have you heard the story of Abraham's honoured guests? 24 When they entered unto him, saying 'Peace!' he said 'Peace! You are a people unknown to me.' 25 Then he went back to his family and brought a fat roasted calf 26 And placed it before them.. he said, "Will ye not eat?" 27 Then he conceived a fear of them (when they ate not). They said: "Fear not." And they gave him glad tidings of an intelligent son, having knowledge (about Allah and His religion of True Monotheism). 28 Then his wife came up in great grief, and she struck her face and said: An old barren woman! 29 They said: Even so saith thy Lord. Lo! He is the Wise, the Knower. 30 ۞ Said he, 'And what is your business, envoys?' 31 They said: Lo! we are sent unto a guilty folk, 32 That we may send down upon them stone of clay, 33 “That are kept marked, with your Lord, for the transgressors.” 34 We saved all the faithful in the town. 35 But We found in it only one household of those who had surrendered themselves, 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the afflictive torment. 37 In Moses, too, (there were signs). We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority, 38 and he turned away in [the pride of] his power and said, "A sorcerer [is this Moses,] or a madman!" 39 So We seized him and his hosts and flung them in the sea, for he was reprobate. 40 And in (the tribe of) A'ad (there is a portent) when we sent the fatal wind against them. 41 It left out nothing in its path, but which it split up into fragments. 42 In the Thamud [there was another sign], when they were told, "Make the most of your lives for a while." 43 In response they rebelled against their Lord’s command, so the thunderbolt seized them whilst they were watching. 44 And neither stand up nor defend themselves. 45 Before all these We destroyed the people of Noah: they were a wicked people. 46
