Therefore remind! by thy Lord's blessing thou art not a soothsayer neither possessed. 29 Or say they: a poet for whom we wait some adverse turn of fortune! 30 Tell them: “Wait; I too am waiting with you.” 31 Do their minds command them to do this, or are they an outrageous folk? 32 Do they say: 'He has invented it' No, they do not believe. 33 Then let them bring a discourse like it, if they speak truly. 34 Did they come into being without any creator? Or were they their own creators? 35 Or is it they who created the heavens and the earth? No; the truth is that they lack sure faith. 36 Are with them the treasures of thy Lord! or are they the dispensers? 37 Have they a stairway whereby they overhear? Then let their listener bring an authority manifest. 38 Or, [if you believe in God, how can you believe that] He has [chosen to have] daughters, whereas you yourselves would have [only] sons? 39 Or is it that you (O Muhammad SAW) ask a wage from them (for your preaching of Islamic Monotheism) so that they are burdened with a load of debt? 40 Or [do they think] that the hidden reality [of all that exists] is almost within their grasp, so that [in time] they can write it down? 41 Or, do they desire to outwit? The unbelievers are the outwitted. 42 Or have they an ilah (a god) other than Allah? Glorified be Allah from all that they ascribe as partners (to Him) 43 Even if they were to see a part of the heavens falling down upon them, they would say, "It is only dense cloud". 44 So leave them until they meet their Day in which they will be struck insensible - 45 the Day when none of their scheming will be of the least avail to them, and they will receive no succour. 46 But, verily, for those who are bent on doing evil, there is suffering in store [even] closer at hand than that [supreme suffering in the hereafter]: but most of them are not aware of it. 47 And so, await in patience thy Sustainer's judgment, for thou art well within Our sight. And extol thy Sustainer's limitless glory and praise whenever thou risest up, 48 And glorify Him in the night and when the stars begin to wane. 49
