The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 When the earth is stretched out taut 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then, he who is given his Book in his right hand 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 And will go into the blazing fire. 12 He used to live joyfully among his people, 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him! 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them do not bow in adoration? ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
