Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

By the midday brightness 1 and the night when it grows still and dark. 2 (O Prophet), your Lord has neither forsaken you, nor is He displeased. 3 Indeed what is to come will be better for you than what has gone by. 4 Your Lord will give you, and you will be satisfied. 5 Did He not find thee an orphan and give thee shelter (and care)? 6 Did He not find you wandering about and give you guidance? 7 And found thee in want, and given thee sufficiency? 8 As for the orphan, do not oppress him, 9 and do not chide the one who asks for help; 10 Therefor of the bounty of thy Lord be thy discourse. 11
