(Recount to them about the time) when Your Lord called Moses: "Go to the wrong-doing people, 10 The people of Firon: Will they not guard (against evil)? 11 He replied, "Lord, I am afraid that they will call me a liar. 12 And that my breast will tighten and my tongue will not be fluent, so send for Aaron. 13 “And they have an accusation against me, so I fear that they may kill me.” 14 (It was) said: "By no means. Go with My signs, both of you. I am verily with you and I hear. 15 Go, then, to Pharaoh and say to him: 'The Lord of the Universe has sent us 16 (Saying): Let the Children of Israel go with us. 17 He said, 'Did we not raise thee amongst us as a child? Didst thou not tarry among us years of thy life? 18 Yet you were ungrateful and have done the deed you did' 19 He said: I did it then while I was of those unable to see the right course; 20 Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord bestowed on me wisdom and made me one of the sent ones. 21 And this is the favor with which you oblige me: You have made the Israelites your slaves. 22 The Pharaoh asked: "And what is the Lord of all the worlds?" 23 Moses replied, "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you want to be certain". 24 [Pharaoh] said to those around him, "Do you not hear?" 25 He said: Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers of old. 26 [Pharaoh] said, "Indeed, your 'messenger' who has been sent to you is mad." 27 [But Moses] went on: "[He of whom I speak is] the Sustainer of the east and the west and of all that is between the two - as you would know]" if you would but use your reason!" 28 Said he, 'If thou takest a god other than me, I shall surely make thee one of the imprisoned.' 29 Moses asked, "What if I were to bring you clear proof (of the existence of God)?" 30 The Pharaoh replied, "Bring it, if you are telling the truth." 31 So he cast down his rod, and lo! it was an obvious serpent, 32 And he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to all beholders! 33
