And verily it is a revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 Which the trusted spirit descended with 193 Upon your heart (O Muhammad SAW) that you may be (one) of the warners, 194 In the plain Arabic language. 195 Its news was also mentioned in the ancient Books. 196 Was it not a sign for them, that it is known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 And even if We had revealed it to one among the foreigners 198 And he had recited it to them, and they had not believed (it would have been different). 199 Thus have We caused it to enter the hearts of the sinners. 200 They will not believe therein until they behold the torment afflictive. 201 It will come upon them suddenly when they are not expecting it. 202 Then they will say: Are we to be reprieved? 203 Would they (now) hasten on Our doom? 204 Think! If We let them enjoy life for some years, 205 And then there cometh unto them that which they had been promised. 206 They would not be availed by the enjoyment with which they were provided. 207 And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners 208 as a reminder from Us: We are never unjust. 209 It was not the devils who brought down the Quran: 210 nor does it behove them, nor does it lie in their power. 211 Verily, they have been removed far from hearing it. 212 So call not upon another god with Allah, lest you be of those who are punished. 213 And warn thou thy clan, the nearest ones. 214 And spread your wing of mercy for the believers following you. 215 Then if they disobey you say to them: "I am quit of what you do." 216 And rely upon the Exalted in Might, the Merciful, 217 Who observes you when you rise (to pray) 218 and observes your movements among those who prostrate themselves. 219 For it is He Who heareth and knoweth all things. 220 Should I tell you on whom the devils descend? 221 They descend on every great accuser, extreme sinner. (The magicians) 222 They pass on what is heard, and most of them are liars. 223 And the astray follow the poets. 224 Art thou not aware that they roam confusedly through all the valleys [of words and thoughts,] 225 and say things which they do not act upon, 226 Except those who believe and do the right, and remember God a great deal, who retaliate only when they have been wronged. Yet the oppressors will now come to know through what reversals they will be overthrown! 227
