So when the apostles came to Lut's followers, 61 He said: "Ye appear to be uncommon folk." 62 They said: nay! we have come to thee with that whereof they have been dubitating. 63 And bring thee the Truth, and lo! we are truth-tellers. 64 So set out with your family in a watch of the night, and keep yourself behind them, and no one of you may turn around, and keep going ahead as you have been commanded." 65 And We revealed to him this decree, that the roots of these shall be cut off in the morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 and he told them, "These are my guests, so do not disgrace me. 68 Fear God and do not shame me." 69 They (people of the city) said: "Did we not forbid you to entertain (or protect) any of the 'Alamin (people, foreigners, strangers, etc. from us)?" 70 He said: "There are my daughters (to marry), if ye must act (so)." 71 Verily, by thy life (O Prophet), in their wild intoxication, they wander in distraction, to and fro. 72 Therefore the scream overcame them at sunrise. 73 and We turned those [sinful towns] upside down, and rained down upon them stone-hard blows of chastisement pre-ordained. 74 Lo! therein verily are portents for those who read the signs. 75 for, behold, those [towns] stood by a road that still exists. 76 surely in that is a sign for believers. 77 And the dwellers in the wood indeed were evil-doers. 78 So we took vengeance on them; and lo! they both are on a high-road plain to see. 79
