The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Arise and warn! 2 Glorify your Lord, 3 and purify your robes, 4 And keep away from Ar-Rujz (the idols)! 5 And give not a thing in order to have more (or consider not your deeds of Allah's obedience as a favour to Allah). 6 For the sake of thy Lord, be patient! 7 Then, when the Trumpet is sounded (i.e. its second blowing); 8 It will be a day of distress, 9 Not easy upon the disbelievers. 10 Leave Me (to deal) with him whom I created lonely, 11 And gave him abundant wealth 12 and children as [love's] witnesses, 13 whose life I have made run smoothly 14 then he is eager that I should do more. 15 Nay! He is forward unto Our signs; 16 On him I shall impose a fearful doom. 17 For he had thought and calculated. 18 (Self-)destroyed is he, how he planned! 19 Again (self-)destroyed is he, how he planned! - 20 Then he looked around, 21 then he frowned and scowled, 22 then turned back, and swelling-up with pride, 23 Then he said: naught is this but magic from of old; 24 Naught is this but the word of Man. 25 I will cast him into the fire of Hell. 26 What do you think Hell-fire is? 27 It leaveth naught; it spareth naught 28 it scorches the skin; 29 Above it are nineteen guards. 30 We have appointed none but angels to guard the Fire, and made their number only as a trial for the unbelievers, so that those to whom the Book was given are certain and those who believe increase in belief. And that those who were given the Book, and those who believe will not be in doubt. And that those in whose hearts there is a sickness, together with the unbelievers, may say: 'What did Allah intend by this as an example' As such, Allah leaves in error whom He will and He guides whomsoever He will. None knows the hosts of your Lord except He. This is no more than a Reminder to humans. 31
