The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca. First revelation of the Quran before The Pen (Al-Qalam)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Read in the name of your Lord Who created. 1 Createth man from a clot. 2 Recite thou: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 who, by the pen, taught the human being: 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 By no means: Verily man exorbitateth. 6 As he considers himself independent! 7 for, behold, unto thy Sustainer all must return. 8 Have you seen one who prevents 9 a servant of Ours from prayer? 10 What is your opinion if he were upon guidance, 11 Or enjoined guarding (against evil)? 12 Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? 13 does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock, 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 So, let him call upon his way! 17 We will call on the angels of punishment (to deal with him)! 18 No indeed; do thou not obey him, and bow thyself, and draw nigh. ۩ 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
