The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ What are they asking each other about? 1 Of the mighty tiding 2 Concerning which they are in disagreement. 3 Verily, they shall soon (come to) know! 4 Then, no! They are going to know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a bed, 6 And the mountains as projections (thereon)? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And have made your sleep as a thing for rest. 9 And made the night as a covering, 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 We have built above you seven mighty heavens, 12 and We appointed a blazing lamp 13 And then sent down hard rain from the water bearing clouds. 14 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, 15 and thick gardens grow? 16 Verily the Day of Sorting out is a thing appointed, 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 And the heavens shall be opened as if there were doors, 19 and the mountains are set in motion, and become a vapour. 20 Indeed hell is lying in ambush. 21 a home for the transgressors, 22 They will remain in it for ages. 23 Neither coolness shall they taste therein nor any [thirst-quenching] drink 24 save boiling water and pus 25 Requital corresponding. 26 Surely they feared not the account, 27 and persistently rejected Our revelations. 28 And everything We have recorded in a book. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30
