The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers, 1 Those who humbly cry in their prayers. 2 And they who turn away from ill speech 3 and at almsgiving are active 4 and who are mindful of their chastity, 5 except with their wives and what their right hand possess, and then they are not blamed. 6 Those who desire to go beyond such limits they commit transgression, 7 And those who fulfil their trusts and keep their promises; 8 And who pay heed to their prayers. 9 Such are the inheritors 10 that will inherit the paradise; [and] therein shall they abide. 11 Indeed We created man from a chosen soil. 12 Then We made him a small seed in a firm resting-place, 13 The living germ, then, was turned into a shapeless lump of flesh from which bones were formed. The bones, then, were covered with flesh. At this stage, We caused it to become another creature. All blessings belong to God, the best Creator. 14 And then you will certainly die, 15 Then you will be raised up again on the Resurrection Day. 16 And indeed We have created seven paths above you; and We are not unmindful of the creation. 17 And We sent down from the sky water (rain) in (due) measure, and We gave it lodging in the earth, and verily, We are Able to take it away. 18 We have established for you gardens of palm trees and vineyards with this water with many fruits for you to consume. 19 And We also produced the tree which springs forth from Mount Sinai, containing oil and sauce for those that eat. 20 And Verily! In the cattle there is indeed a lesson for you. We give you to drink (milk) of that which is in their bellies. And there are, in them, numerous (other) benefits for you, and of them you eat. 21 You are carried by the animals on land and by the ships in the sea. 22
