When your Lord called upon Moses: "Go to the wicked people, 10 The people of Firon: Will they not guard (against evil)? 11 He answered: "O my Sustainer! Behold, I fear that they will give me the lie, 12 And my breast straitens, and my tongue is not eloquent, therefore send Thou to Haroun (to help me); 13 And they have a crime against me, so I fear that they will kill me. 14 He said: 'Never so, go both of you with Our signs; We shall be with you, listening 15 "And when you both come to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), say: 'We are the Messengers of the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 16 That you should send the children of Israel with us.' 17 [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said [to Musa (Moses)]: "Did we not bring you up among us as a child? And you did dwell many years of your life with us. 18 And you commited what you did, and you are ungrateful!" 19 (Moses) replied: "I did do that and I was in the wrong, 20 Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord vouchsafed me a command and appointed me (of the number) of those sent (by Him). 21 And this is the past favour wherewith thou reproachest me: that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel. 22 Pharaoh said: And what is the Lord of the Worlds? 23 [Moses] said, "The Lord of the heavens and earth and that between them, if you should be convinced." 24 Said he to those about him, 'Do you not hear?' 25 He said, 'Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients.' 26 Said he, 'Surely your Messenger who was sent to you is possessed!' 27 'He is the Lord of the East and the West' said he (Moses), 'and all that is between them, if you could understand' 28 Said he, 'If thou takest a god other than me, I shall surely make thee one of the imprisoned.' 29 (Moses) said: "Even if I showed you something clear (and) convincing?" 30 (The Pharaoh) said: "Then bring it, if you speak the truth." 31 Then he cast down his staff, and lo! it was a serpent manifest. 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo! it was white unto the beholders. 33
