۞ Say: 'O my people who have been prodigal against yourselves, do not despair of God's mercy; surely God forgives sins altogether; surely He is the All-forgiving, the All-compassionate. 53 Turn to your Lord and surrender yourselves to Him before the punishment overtakes you, for then you will not be helped. 54 Follow the best of what has been revealed to you by your Lord before the punishment overtakes you suddenly and you are caught unawares, 55 lest any human being should say [on Judgment Day,] "Alas for me for having been remiss in what is due to God, and for having been indeed one of those who scoffed [at the truth]!" 56 Or [lest] it say, "If only Allah had guided me, I would have been among the righteous." 57 Or (lest) he should say when he sees the torment: "If only I had another chance (to return to the world) then I should indeed be among the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112)." 58 God will reply to the soul, "My revelations had certainly come to you but you rejected them. You were puffed-up with pride and you became an unbeliever". 59 On the Day of Resurrection you shall see that the faces of those who had lied against Allah have turned dark. Is Hell not vast enough to provide a room to the vainglorious? 60 But Allah will deliver the righteous to their place of salvation: no evil shall touch them, nor shall they grieve. 61 GOD is the Creator of all things, and He alone has the power to determine the fate of all things. 62 His are the keys of the heavens and the earth, and they who disbelieve the revelations of Allah - such are they who are the losers. 63
