The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Most Beneficent (Allah)! 1 has taught the Qur'an, 2 He created the human being 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 And the grasses and the trees bow (to Him) in adoration. 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 That you may not be inordinate in respect of the measure. 8 and weigh with justice, and skimp not in the Balance.) 9 And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] 11 And also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-scented plants. 12 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 13 He created man of a clay like the potter's, 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests: 17 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 18 He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together: 19 [yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 25
