The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 By the angels hastening, 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
