Remember Noah when he called to Us before this. We heard him and saved him and those with him from great distress; 76 We helped him against the people who said Our revelations were mere lies. They were a bad people and We drowned them all. 77 (Remember) David and Solomon, when they pronounced judgement about the field which was eaten up at night by sheep belonging to certain people. We were witness to their judgement. 78 for, [though] We made Solomon understand the case [more profoundly] yet We vouchsafed unto both of them sound judgment and knowledge [of right and wrong]. And We caused the mountains to join David in extolling Our limitless glory, and likewise the birds: for We are able to do [all things]. 79 And We taught him the fashioning of coats of armor to protect you from your [enemy in] battle. So will you then be grateful? 80 To Solomon the raging wind ran at his command to the land which We had blessed. We have knowledge of all things. 81 And We subdued many devils who dived (into the sea) for him and carried out other jobs besides that. We kept watch over all of them. 82 ۞ And (remember) Ayub (Job), when he cried to his Lord: "Verily, distress has seized me, and You are the Most Merciful of all those who show mercy." 83 We therefore heard his prayer and removed the adversity that had afflicted him, and We gave him his family and in addition bestowed along with them a similar number, by mercy from Ourselves – and an advice for the people who worship. 84 And (remember) Isma'il, Idris, and Zul-kifl, all (men) of constancy and patience; 85 And We caused them to enter into our mercy, verily they are of the righteous. 86 And Yunus, when he went away in wrath, so he thought that We would not straiten him, so he called out among afflictions: There is no god but Thou, glory be to Thee; surely I am of those who make themselves to suffer loss. 87 We heard his prayer and saved him from grief. As such We shall save the believers. 88 And Zachariah, when he cried unto his Lord: My Lord! Leave me not childless, though Thou art the Best of inheritors. 89 So We heard him and gave him John, and cured his wife (of barrenness). These were men who vied in good deeds with one another, and prayed to Us with love and awe, and were meek before Us. 90 And [mention] the one who guarded her chastity, so We blew into her [garment] through Our angel [Gabriel], and We made her and her son a sign for the worlds. 91 Lo! this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so worship Me. 92 But they split up the order among themselves; (yet) all of them have to come back to Me. 93
