The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers, 1 who are submissive to God in their prayers, 2 and who turn away from all that is frivolous, 3 who observe Zakah; 4 and who are mindful of their chastity, 5 Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame; 6 But those whose desires exceed those limits are transgressors;- 7 And who are shepherds of their pledge and their covenant, 8 and those who attend to their prayers; 9 Such are the inheritors 10 Who will inherit paradise. There they will abide. 11 And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay. 12 and then We cause him to remain as a drop of sperm in [the wombs] firm keeping, 13 Then We made the Nutfah into a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood), then We made the clot into a little lump of flesh, then We made out of that little lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We brought it forth as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators. 14 After that, surely, you will die. 15 and you will be brought back to life again on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And indeed We have created seven paths above you; and We are not unmindful of the creation. 17 And We send down water from the skies in accordance with a measure [set by Us,] and then We cause it to lodge in the earth: but, behold, We are most certainly able to withdraw this [blessing]! 18 With it, We produced for you gardens of palms and vines, yielding abundant fruit for you to eat. 19 Also, a tree which grows on the Tor of Sinai and gives oil and relish for its eaters. 20 And verily in the cattle for you is a lesson. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are advantages many, and of them ye eat. 21 And upon them and on ships you are carried. 22
