Truly, it is the sending of the Lord of the Worlds. 192 Which the trustworthy Ruh [Jibrael (Gabriel)] has brought down; 193 upon thy heart, [O Muhammad] so that thou mayest be among those who preach 194 In a clear Arabic language. 195 Truly it is in the Scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that [so many] learned men from among the children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 (But such is their adamance) that had We revealed it to one of the non-Arabs and even if he had recited (this clear Arabic discourse) to them 198 who would have read it to them, they (pagans) would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused it to enter into the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful torment; 201 The torment will strike them suddenly without their knowledge. 202 Then they will say: are we to be respited? 203 What, do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 204 Tell Me, if We do let them enjoy for years, 205 and thereupon that [chastisement] which they were promised befalls them 206 It will profit them not that they enjoyed (this life)! 207 We never destroyed any town without first sending to them warning and guidance. 208 to admonish them. We have never been unjust. 209 And [this divine writ is such a reminder:] no evil spirits have brought it down: 210 And it behoves them not, and they have not the power to do (it). 211 indeed they are debarred from overhearing it. 212 So call not on any other god with Allah, or thou wilt be among those under the Penalty. 213 And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred. 214 And be kind to him who follows you of the believers. 215 And if they disobey you, then say, "Indeed, I am disassociated from what you are doing." 216 Put thy trust in the All-mighty, the All-compassionate 217 Who watches you when you get up, 218 and when you turn among those who prostrate themselves. 219 For it is He Who heareth and knoweth all things. 220 O people, shall I tell you on whom it is that satans descend? 221 They come to every sinful liar. 222 who lends an ear to them, and most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, the erring follow them. 224 See you not that they speak about every subject (praising others right or wrong) in their poetry? 225 And that they say that which they do not? 226 Save those who believe and do good works, and remember Allah much, and vindicate themselves after they have been wronged. Those who do wrong will come to know by what a (great) reverse they will be overturned! 227
