The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 that they are in utter disagreement? 3 Indeed they will come to know soon; 4 And once again: Nay, but in time they will come to understand! 5 Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse, 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs; 8 And made your sleep a rest. 9 And have made the night as a covering (through its darkness), 10 and We made the day for a livelihood. 11 And constructed above you seven strong [heavens] 12 And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour? 13 and sent down heavy rains from the clouds 14 that We may bring forth with it grain, plants 15 and gardens dense with foliage. 16 Surely the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds 18 And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors. 19 And the mountains shall be moved off so that they shall remain a mere semblance. 20 Behold, Gehenna has become an ambush, 21 a home for the transgressors, 22 They will abide therein for ages. 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 a fitting requital, 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 And denied Our verses with [emphatic] denial. 28 And all things have We preserved on record. 29 Taste therefore. We shall not increase you in aught but torment. 30
