The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 And return to his people in happiness. 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them do not bow in adoration? ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 God is quite aware of what they are storing in their hearts. 23 So announce to them a Penalty Grievous, 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
