3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah cried to Us, and how excellent was Our response! 75 And We delivered him and his people from the great affliction. 76 And We preserved his descendants. 77 And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the nations. 79 That is how We recompense the righteous: 80 he was one of Our believing worshipers. 81 Then We drowned the others. 82 ۞ And indeed, among his kind was Abraham, 83 Behold! he approached his Lord with a sound heart. 84 when he said to his father and his folk, 'What do you serve? 85 Would you serve false deities instead of God? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds' 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 Then he said: Surely I am sick (of your worshipping these). 89 and at that they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 He turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 Why do you not speak?" 92 Then he turned against them secretly, smiting them with the right hand. 93 whereupon people came to him running. 94 He said, 'Do you serve what you hew, 95 “Whereas Allah has created you and your actions?” 96 They said: "Build for him a building (it is said that the building was like a furnace) and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 And they devised a plot for him, but We made them the humble. 98 He said: "I will go to my Lord! He will surely guide me! 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 So We gave him the glad tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 And when he reached the age when he could work with him, he said, "O my son, I have seen in a dream that I am sacrificing you. So tell me what you think of it!" He replied, "O my father, do as you are commanded; and God willing, you will find me steadfast." 102 When they submitted to the will of God, and (Abraham) laid (his son) down prostrate on his temple, 103 We called out to him "O Abraham! 104 “You have indeed made the dream come true”; and this is how We reward the virtuous. 105 That was indeed a trying test. 106 So, We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and We preserved for him a good name among posterity. 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 Verily We! thus We compense the well-doers. 110 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 111 Then We gave him the good tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him, and Isaac; and of their seed some are good-doers, and some manifest self-wrongers. 113
