Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
