The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
