The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
