The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
36 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Spider (Al-Ankaboot) before The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Woe to the diminishers, 1 those who, when they take from others by measure, take their full share; 2 Whereas when they give others after measuring or weighing, they give them less! 3 Do such people not realize that they will be raised up, 4 unto a mighty day 5 the Day when all men shall stand before the Sustainer of all the worlds? 6 Indeed the ledger of the wicked will be in (the lowest depths) Sijjin. 7 And how would you know what the Record of the prison-house is? 8 A written record. 9 Ah the woe that day for those who deny, 10 Those who belie the Day of Requital. 11 And none can deny it but the Transgressor beyond bounds the Sinner! 12 When Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to him he says: "Tales of the ancients!" 13 Nay! But on their hearts is the Ran (covering of sins and evil deeds) which they used to earn. 14 Indeed! On that Day a barrier will be set between them and their Lord, 15 Then verily they will be roasted into the Scorch. 16 Then shall it be said: This is what you gave the lie to. 17 No indeed! Verily, the deeds of the virtuous shall be in the record of the exalted ones. 18 What could let you know what the 'Illiyoon is! 19 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 20 Which is witnessed by those brought near [to Allah]. 21 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 22 On adorned couches, observing. 23 You will recognise the freshness of serenity on their faces. 24 They will be given to drink of pure wine, sealed. 25 which have the fragrance of musk. This is the kind of place for which one should really aspire. 26 With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: 27 a fountain at which the chosen ones shall drink. 28 Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. 29 And whenever they passed by them, used to wink one to another (in mockery); 30 And when they returned to their household they returned jesting. 31 On seeing the believers, they would say, "These people have gone astray". 32 But they were not Sent to be guardians over them! 33 But today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers; 34 while reclining on couches and reviewing (the bounties given to them). 35 Have the unbelievers been duly rewarded for their deeds? 36
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
