Thorns (Al-Masad)
5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab, and perish he! 1 His wealth avails him not, neither what he has earned; 2 he shall roast at a Flaming Fire, 3 And his wife too, who carries wood (thorns of Sadan which she used to put on the way of the Prophet (Peace be upon him), or use to slander him). 4 shall have a rope of palmfiber around her neck! 5
True are the words of God the Almighty.
