Have you heard the story of Abraham's honored guests? 24 When they came to him saying, "Peace be with you," he replied to their greeting in the same manner and said to himself, "These are a strange people". 25 He went quietly to his wife and returned to his guests with a fat, roasted calf. 26 And placed it before them, (saying): "Will you not eat?" 27 (When they did not eat), He conceived a fear of them. They said, "Fear not," and they gave him glad tidings of a son endowed with knowledge. 28 (Sarah) his wife came with an exclamation and clasped her face, and said: 'Surely, I am a barren old woman' 29 They said, "Even so has thy Lord spoken: and He is full of Wisdom and Knowledge." 30 ۞ Said [Abraham]: "And what [else] may you have in view, O you [heavenly] messengers?" 31 They said: "We have been sent to a wicked people 32 so that we may bring down upon them a shower of stones of clay, 33 "Marked as from thy Lord for those who trespass beyond bounds." 34 So We brought out from therein the believers. 35 But We found not there any household of the Muslims except one [i.e. Lout (Lot) and his two daughters]. 36 We left therein evidence for those who fear the painful torment. 37 And in Moosa, when We sent him with a clear proof towards Firaun. 38 But he withdrew (confiding) in his might, and said: A wizard or a madman. 39 So We seized him and his hosts, and cast them into the sea. He became an object of much blame. 40 There is also evidence of the Truth in the story of Ad whom We struck with a violent wind 41 It left nothing of what it came upon but that it made it like disintegrated ruins. 42 And in Thamood it was said to them: 'Take your enjoyment for awhile' 43 But in their pride they turn away from the commandment of their Lord and the thunderbolt struck them whilst they were looking; 44 And they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. 45 And [We destroyed] the people of Noah before; indeed, they were a people defiantly disobedient. 46
