Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon will be joined together (by going one into the other or folded up or deprived of their light, etc.) 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
