Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
I CALL TO witness those who scatter (dust) by dispersing, 1 And the clouds bearing a load. 2 Then by oath of those which move with ease. 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 and the Day of Judgment will inevitably take place. 6 By the heaven full of paths. 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 They but destroy themselves, they who are given to guessing at what they cannot ascertain 10 Who are under a cover of heedlessness (think not about the gravity of the Hereafter), 11 They ask, “When will be the Day of Judgement?” 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Indeed the pious are among Gardens and water springs. 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 they would lie asleep during but a small part of the night, 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 and the beggar and the outcast had a share in their wealth. 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 There is also evidence of the Truth within your own selves. Will you then not see? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth - just as [sure as] it is that you are speaking. 23
