The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ ABOUT WHAT do they [most often] ask one another? 1 About the Great News 2 concerning which they are in disagreement! 3 Verily, they shall soon (come to) know! 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs. 8 And We have made your sleep as a rest. 9 made the night as a covering, 10 and made the day to seek livelihood, 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 And have appointed a dazzling lamp, 13 and sent down heavy rains from the clouds 14 that We may bring forth with it grain, plants 15 And gardens dense and luxuriant. 16 Surely the day of decision is (a day) appointed: 17 It is a Day whereon the trumpet will be blown, and ye will come in multitudes. 18 And the heaven is opened and will become gateways 19 and the mountains move, and vaporize. 20 Surely, Hell lies in wait, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 Where they will remain for aeons, 23 They will not taste therein cool or any drink. 24 save boiling water and a stinking fluid -- 25 as a fitting recompense for their deeds. 26 They were those who did not expect a reckoning, 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 And all things have We preserved on record. 29 'Taste! We shall increase you not save in chastisement.' 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
