The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
READ IN THE name of your Lord who created, 1 created man from a clot of congealed blood. 2 Recite thou: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 Who taught by the pen - 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Despite this, the human being still tends to rebel 6 For he thinks he is sufficient in himself. 7 for, behold, unto thy Sustainer all must return. 8 What is your opinion – regarding him who forbids – 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 What thinkest thou? If he were upon guidance 11 or is concerned with God-consciousness? 12 What do you think? Have you seen if he belies and turns away, 13 Does he not know that Allah does see? 14 No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock - 15 A lying, sinning forelock. 16 Let him call on his associates for help 17 [the while] We shall summon the forces of heavenly chastisement! 18 (Muhammad), never yield to him! Prostrate yourself and try to come closer to God. ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
