A group of his people who disbelieved him and had called the Day of Judgment a lie and whom We had made prosperous in this life, said, "He is a mere mortal like you. He eats and drinks as you do. 33 If you follow a mortal like yourselves you will certainly be lost. 34 Does he promise you that when you die and have become dust and bones, that you will be brought forth again? 35 ۞ Away! away with that wherewith ye are promised; 36 "There is nothing but our life in this world! We shall die and we live! But we shall never be raised up again! 37 He is nothing but a man who attributes his own lying inventions to God, and we are not going to believe him!" 38 He said: 'Help me, Lord, they belie me' 39 Allah said: after a little while they will become regretful. 40 The blast justly struck them and We reduced them to rubble. Away with such wicked people! 41 After them We produced other generations 42 No nation can outstrip its term, nor yet postpone it. 43 Then We sent Our Messengers in succession, every time there came to a nation their Messenger, they denied him, so We made them follow one another (to destruction), and We made them as Ahadith (the true stories for mankind to learn a lesson from them). So away with a people who believe not. 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs and clear authority 45 to the Pharaoh and his nobles. But they behaved proudly and thought themselves superior people. 46 They therefore said, “Shall we believe in two humans like ourselves, whereas their nation is servile to us?” 47 So they denied them both [Musa (Moses) and Harun (Aaron)] and became of those who were destroyed. 48 And We certainly gave Moses the Scripture that perhaps they would be guided. 49 And We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign and sheltered them within a high ground having level [areas] and flowing water. 50
